The Free Wheel Project
Stories from a trip to wherever on the back of a bike. Random thoughts from a wandering mind.

Hi, Elaine.

The Backers Who Ask for Nothing

Thanks to the few who gave generously and asked for no reward at all in return. My brother Michael, my mother, Susan, my cousin Erika and Jon and Carole, thank you to you all for helping me so much to finish this project.

Project Update, Backer Thanks

Well, manuscripts have arrived at their destinations and rewards are almost ready to go out, just a couple of notes left to write and envelopes left to stamp.

Thanks today to Clifton B, Ali Tenenbaum and Steve Bocknek old, older and lifetime friends in that order who were able to help out and contribute to the project.  Thanks guys!

Apply to Elsewhere Artist Residency Program

Application form for the artists’ collaborative I run the kitchen of currently.  My status here next year is to be determined, but its a great program either way.

Only 6 months too late… but still kind of cool.

Thanks to Nick for the spot, would’ve missed myself.

Project Progress, Backer Appreciation

So in case some of you didn’t see, I picked up copies of my manuscript for peer review yesterday and want to get most of them in the post tomorrow!  This exciting development thanks to kickstarter, and on that note, I want to thank Justin Demmerle and Kevin Barr, old friends of mine who knew me when I was but a high school lit-mag nerd.  Thank you also Nick and Grant who I met both of at Elsewhere, and may have glimpsed some of my progressed lit-nerdom.

Check out the kickstarter updates here.

and for more glimpses at the novel-in-progress check out my other blog here.

More Thanks, Just as Thankful

Just went to order copies of the manuscript for pick-up tomorrow!  Backers and editors, expect your rewards and copies soon.

Thanks today to Steve Sherman, who cannot stop curating.  Also thanks to Nancy, Colin and Erin, you guys rock!

Backer Thanks

Funds have cleared from kickstarter faster than I thought and I’m looking into where to print manuscripts right now, so expect your rewards soon!

Thanks to Zach Kohn, Nicole Lavelle, and the Zandrak Production company, you guys helped make it happen with your monies and your super awesome social networking work on my behalf!

Thanks to Backers

I wanted to do my first round of thanks, and there will be a few.  So thank you to Jamie Meredith and Lea Freeman.

Jamie, I’m so glad you found my project and were able to get involved, thanks so much for helping me finish this book.

Lea, it was a nice treat to see your name show up, I hope all is well with you (perhaps we’ll catch up sometime soon?) and appreciate the you investing in me after having not seen you in so long.  A smiling thanks to you.

Just finished building up my new ride, the goal being to spend as little as possible, which somehow involved a fairly nice (vitus? maybe someone can identify) aluminum frame that came with an early 90s dura-ace headset and stem attached to my old nitto pursuit bars (you can’t see in the pic that they are bent from a long ago crash), some xtr cranks, mismatched shorty levers on the bar flats and a pretty recent 105 rear derraileur that I’m using (chuckle) as a chain tensioner because I only had a single speed wheelset and no money for re-dishing etc.
This bike is broke fancy.
